Lynette Pendergast and her husband Scott moved to Maui from Helena, Montana in the fall of 2008. When asked what brought them here – her answer is always “a dream.” That, and they were tired of the snow and cold in Montana!! Lynette sees many similarities between Maui and Montana. Both are beautiful – Montana with its wide open spaces, its mountains and lakes; Maui with the ocean, the West Maui Mtns and of course Haleakala. The sunsets are spectacular – both in Maui & in Montana. Both are quite rural – especially Upcountry, where she lives. She has found people from Montana and people from Maui are very friendly & welcoming - and very private and reserved.

Lynette has many activities she enjoys: walking – a great way to take in the beauty of the surroundings and to spend time outdoors, golf – and isn’t this a great place to golf, reading, spending time at the beach, water activities – stand up paddle boarding, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and just relaxing. One of her favorite activities is traveling, especially to see her 5 grandchildren and their parents living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, San Diego, California and currently in Havana Cuba.

Lynette began her real estate adventure purchasing her homes and rental property, both in Montana and Maui. It wasn’t until she moved to Maui that she became a Realtor ® Salesperson and then 3 years later, a Realtor ® Broker. Now as Broker-in-Charge for the Makawao and Paia offices of Equity One Real Estate, Inc. she is able to work with the agents and share her knowledge and experience – learning with each transaction. Lynette is active in the Rotary Club of Upcountry Maui, the President Elect in 2016/17 and President in 2017/18. She chairs the Community Service Committee and participates in Highway Cleanup, the yearly Electronic pickup, and Polio Plus – the Rotary push to eradicate polio worldwide. She is also a Paul Harris Fellow. Lynette is also active in the Upcountry Chapter of BNI (Business Network International) having been a Charter member of that Club as well as Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer.

Having made the move from the mainland, Lynette is happy to share some of the things she learned – and are learning every day living on this beautiful island. Lynette loves traveling around the island, discovering new areas It is fun to see how different each area of the island is – and how everyone looking for their piece of paradise sees the different areas of Maui and either loves it or can travel a few miles down the road, or up the mountain to have a completely different view of Maui.

If you are looking for your piece of paradise, please call or email Lynette. She would love to help you find it!
