Karen Notley is a 30-year resident of Maui, having initially settled on the south side before making her home in Haiku on the north shore for the past 20 years. Originally from the East Coast, Karen earned her BA in English from Stony Brook University and later transitioned into the IT world in California, where she excelled in selling computer components across the U.S. However, one visit to Maui changed everything. Captivated by the island's beauty and lifestyle, she made the life-altering decision to call it home.

Karen's journey on Maui began with a deep connection to the ocean, leading her to work as an underwater videographer and divemaster for a tour boat company. After several years on the island, Karen got married and started a family, which inspired her to transition into a career in real estate. She gained valuable experience in vacation rentals and property management.

Her passion for interior design blossomed when she and her husband, Tony, began building and designing tiny houses from shipping containers. Karen brought her creativity to the interiors, while Tony handled the construction. Together, they sold these unique homes across the island, from the south side to upcountry.
